void_oceania is a synthetic sea that responds directly to your presence, it’s tides, waves, and sounds shifting with your breath, movement, and warmth.

This real-time ocean functions as a digital twin of the artist’s ancestral shoreline in Humåtak, Guåhan. The work actively confronts the forces of erasure that threaten both physical shorelines and cultural histories. It deconstructs the gallery space to examine how deep memory survives under conditions of ecological and existential uncertainty.

The installation is a vessel to examine the ‘void’ of diaspora: the deep ache of absence and separation from one’s homeland.
